This is a collection of my current work Melanin Series. This series was born out of my life experiences as a black person coupled with the current and ongoing police brutality, racism, stereotyping, and marginalization of black people. This series represents the need to appreciate the beauty of black people and black culture. It serves to demystify the lives, thoughts, and struggles of everyday black people while debunking stereotypes and untruths to highlight actual truths.
This is a collection of beautiful, vibrant abstract mixed media paintings created primarily in acrylic ink. These paintings are inspired by my personal journey toward mental wellness and emotional healing. After the pandemic my body required a lot of grace and my mind needed more freedom and thus this collection was born. It reminds one to let the mind wander and to trust your instincts.
